Jonel Cabunoc Murillo | Cum Laude at Central Mindanao University

"To my dearest classmates, teachers, friends, and students.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone especially to my family, friends, DNHS classmates and teachers for all the help that realized all these things in my life.

A little sacrifice will worth all the efforts as long as you have the dedication and determination to succeed and put JESUS as the center of your journey.

For those who hope and dream, chances are there that will lead you back to Dologon where people are proud and inspired TO HEAR YOUR STORIES. Just always be humble and do your best in every thing that you are doing.

Together, we can make our ALMA MATTER proud and prosperous in many different ways. Just keep on Moving. :) GOD BLESS US ALL"

To achieve something, we should work hard and do things towards it. I remember Jonel Murillo, a mathematics geek way back in our Alma matter--Dologon National High School, Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon.

He is a serious guy, a humble, and quiet person. But his skills in Mathematics says all who he is. He also struggled in other things, not in studies, but let's say, financially. But despite all of these, he learned to achieve things to honor his family and his Alma matter.

He represented Dologon NHS in various mathematics competitions and brings home the beacons.

Truly, a person who experienced difficult things on his way will likely to succeed. Now that he has finished his bachelor's degree and was awarded as Cum Laude at Central Mindanao Universiy, he not only honored his family but also give them pride for he has achieved something great. His classmates and friends, especially his fellow alumni at Dologon NHS will also be proud of him for he has given the school honor and inspiration.

We are so proud of you Jonel! Continue to inspire our fellow alumni, and create tomorrow's leaders with your chosen profession.~Dologon NHS Alumni Blog

Exams of Life | Edward D. Espina

I was walking in the stairs going down for work. Suddenly, a familiar face stick in a happy corner of SM City Cagayan de Oro caught my attention. It reads, "In this season of lent, I would like to share to everyone here at SM especially to
those who strive hard,
those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,

those who aspire to achieve something especially for the purpose of education yet of low funds but has a heart to make things possible despite of certain challenges,

and to all those who never fail to thank God and ask him for guidance in everything he does,

Galatians 6:9 is for you. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not just GIVE UP."
I am an SM scholar who work for summer job at SM. The featured photo and article is from a friend whom I met as I work at SM every summer. He is a friendly and a professional person, no wonder almost all of SM scholars who works during summer is also his friend. He was like me--a poor man, but never stop dreaming despite financial difficulties. He works at SM as a sales utility clerk, and I knew he is going to school every vacant of his time. He begged to the management to change his shift to study. Now, he not graduated his dreamed course but also graduated in his dreamed university. I was very proud of him, that's why I asked his article to share it with you today, and here is it, Edward Espinas'

Exams of Life

Was there a time that you are about to take an important exam and that you are so bothered whether you will pass or you will fail? Or was there a time in your life that you feel so helpless, lonely, scared and worse that you wanted to die? Well that's what I call exams of life, and in every exam, we do a lot of preparations but nevertheless there are still times that no matter what measures we make we may still fail. But, never loss hope my friends, just look above and see the sky, sometimes it looks so dark but remember behind the darkness of the clouds the sun will shine. What we need is strong heart and clear determination that if we fall, we still have to rise and conquer every challenge.

That is what I've learned in life and I would like to inculcate it to every one of--not to easily give up.

Let me share to you my friends a little bit of my story. Xavier University has been so known ever since and even when i was just a kid, i have known this prestigious university already. I dreamed that one day I may have some time to get inside there and see what it is like. I thought of that but I prayed that I would not just meander but to study there.

After high school as the normal scenario, most of my classmates were very excited and eager to take exams to whichever university they like. Someone asked me, hey! Edward where will you study? I just said, SAVE YEAR which means I have to save the year and maybe not to study but to work, knowing our financial situation and my mother got sick as well.

Later on before June started, a friend came to our house and informed me that I passed the scholarship we took, so i able to study but not at Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. I was feeling so blessed and lucky for that news as it was a great opportunity. I took an associate course, so then I graduated after two years. I then find a work, but my dream never stop from there and I continued my prayer.

God above gave me such a nice work at SM City Cagayan de Oro and a nice people who helped me. Then I was awakened from my long time dream last October 2008 when i first came in that institution to process my enrollment. Now, I just graduated with the degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management and dreaming to take a professional education or to master my course.

These things would not happen if I quit and surrendered, and if I gone astray to the exams of life and again put it in your minds my dear friends--that behind the darkness of the clouds the sun will rise.

May you all have a wonderful day and give time to reflect the goodness of Jesus Christ.

Graduation Speech | Carla Margarita Batoy

To our distinguished guests,
To my fellow graduating classmates,
To our competent teachers,
To our ever-loving and supportive parents,
Visitors, ladies, and gentlemen,
My warmest greetings!

Today marked the most exciting event of our life as students. It isn’t the end, yet the beginning of another journey in our lives.

I believe that I wouldn’t be standing here without the important people behind me. First and foremost, God who gave me wisdom and courage to go on, my mentors who patiently taught us every day and most of all to the people whom we want to give honor today—our parents.

I remember the time my Mom told me. She said, “Nak, mag-skwela jud ka ug tarung kay mao ran a ang butang nga among ikabilin sa imo nga bisan wala na me ni Daddy sa kalibutan. (Child, you must study well, because that is the only thing we can left for you even if Daddy and I will pass in this world).”

I couldn’t quite understand what she meant. Now I realize, I am their only daughter. What more could they be proud of and be happy about when I finish my studies.

My dear classmates, now is the time to say “thank you” to our Mama and Papa, who, ever since, have worked so hard to feed us, give us allowance and pay our tuition fees. Our parents who ironed our uniforms every morning, put our socks, cleaned our shoes, helped us in our assignments, and who were also there to answer our inquisitive minds.

At this point in time, may I request the parents of the graduating class to stand.  “Ato silang tagaan ug kusog nga pakpak (Let us give them a big applause)”. Our salute to our parents. “Ug gihangyo sab naku ang tanan nga graduating class sa pagtindog ug pagdool sa inyong mga mama ug papa (May I also request all graduating class to stand and approach your mothers and fathers)”. This is the time you tell them how grateful you are to have parents like them and to say “I Love You”.

As we leave the portals of our Alma Matter, let us not forget, that we owe who we are right now, where we are right now, what we have achieved right now to our parents and teachers, most of our Almighty God. All the fruits of our labors are dedicated to them. To you our loving parents and supportive teachers, we salute you… we dedicate all our achievements today to all of you in exchange of your endeavors and sacrifices in molding us into a better citizen and responsible human being useful for the society.

Thank you for not giving up on us, thank you for always reminding us the importance of education, for constantly teaching us the value of life.

Whatever plans we have in mind, Lord we surrender them to you. We will do the best we can but in the end, let your will be done.

Thank you very much!

The Secret Love | J.C.M

We’re both freshmen when I met you,
For me you’re the best I've ever knew,
For you’re so beautiful and new,
Like a lovely rose with dew.

In my eyes you’re the only one,
And in my heart you’ll never gone.
For you in typhoon I will stand,
To see you soon and ask your hand.

I hope you will always remember,
In my loving heart you’re the porter,
And it will wait for you forever,
Until the last minute of the timer.

I hope you’ll come and realize,
All my love and sacrifice,
To make you laugh at times,
Even if it hurts sometimes,

‘Coz you treat this just a friend,
In me it’s hard to bend
‘Coz I can’t tell you then,
That my love never ends.

My self is like a nouveau riche when I knew you,
For you’re my happiness and smiles too.
Up the sky and mountains blue,
That’s how my SECRET LOVE for you…

Fourteen Years Ago | Joanna Rose Alsa

Fourteen years ago…
I’m the childish girl you knew
I’ve done so many mistakes
But I’ve learned from all of it.

No dolls… no toys I held so tight
No crying in the middle of the night
No parents when I was sleeping and dreaming
Because now that’s a memory I’m keeping.

Fourteen years ago…
I’m the foolish girl you knew
But now I’m already grown up
You can do nothing to make it stop.

I want you to see the change in me
I want you to face the reality
You can never tell me lies
I can tell by the look into your eyes.

Fourteen years ago…
I was the innocent girl you knew
You took advantage of that
And then you broke my heart.

Can’t you see the change in me?
From head to toe I am free
Free to live, free to love
Free to fly like a dove.

The flowers blooms in the day
Do you see your girl becoming a lady?
What you see is not your girl that is gone
But the lady owned by someone.

Fourteen years ago is gone
Too much change is already done
Fourteen years ago, I can’t let you go
But now I can paddle my own canoe.

Simple Logic | Lady Marmalade

If I were a millionaire;
I’d build a house where street children can live there.

If I were a superman;
I’d see to it that no one falls from where he stand.

If I were a priest;
I’d give my blessings to everyone even the smallest.

If I were a baker;
I’d share my food to a beggar even if nothing is left in the jar.

If I were a doctor;
I’d save lives though I could not be a donor.

If I were a police;
I’d run the bandits and keep them in peace.

If I were a man;
I’d cherish my wife until her name melts in the sun.

But I am a teacher;
I’d do my best to give everything I can share.

The Accuracy of My Chemistry

So many times I tried my dear
To simplify the way I feel
I wondered if notations would mean
The whole of what my nucleus to tell.

I tried to compare different elements
Using metallic property, one of the means
I tried ionization energy and atomic radius
To integrate these crazy thoughts.

I tried to lodge electron affinity
By my unknown ion increased to three
I used the lambda of Louis de Broglie
To measure the wavelength of my Chemistry.

I tried to add the average percentage first
But what I got was not the best
I dislodged it from the average’s sum
But the difference is negative one.

As I used Dalton’s atomic theory
It extended into the idea of indivisibility
I gave up and thought twice
To use chemistry is a simple device.

So what I used was electron configuration
To solve it with a formula and so on
So did with the aid of electron negativity
At last I got the right answer one-four-three.

I LOVE YOU - Three Words to Say Yet Hundred Ways to Show

I love you! Yes I do.
I love you more than anyone else could do.
I may not be vocal, but deep in my heart is where you reside;
Oh! How I love to fill your heart with pure delight.

My heart beats for just you my love;
I’m sending you love songs given to me from above;
You always utter the words “I love you baby”
Hearing no response from me

  My silence never bothers you
For you know that I love you so!
The moment I opened my heart and let you in
Great love as well as consequences of it starting to begin.

We never meant for this to happen
But we are both sure happy it did
We’ve found the closest thing to heaven
Making us feel like a kid!

You taught me not to be afraid
Fearing not of wanting you
I’m really glad to have found you
I can never grace my heart away from you

I do hope everything will be alright
Making our love, a guiding light
Putting us both on the right track
Living the promise of our everlasting love!

Letting Go!

Isn't wonderful to have people around you?
Promising  that they would not leave you?
To stick with you tick or thin?
To be beside you until hell freezes over?
Damn ! How fascinating their promises were.

I thought... I thought... I thought...
Gosh! I'm so stupid believing in their sweet swears & Lies
I believe them b'cos I thought they were true,
I thought they wouldn't make my heart cry
and I thought they couldn't afford to lose me.
I thought -for a second,this is just the only thing I'm sure-of
I was a fooled!

It's not that I own them,It's just that I'm too selfish to the ones
I love and I don't want us to be parted again!
But if the time comes that they have to leave,
I will just close my eyes co's I don't have the strength to see him leaving.

For in my sixteen years of existence,
I definitely conclude :
That the most difficult words I know are
"LETTING GO"!

Departure

Here we are in a distance we can't reach
I can only see you smile but we're a universe apart
It feels so cold like a shower in the rain
It makes me feel free but I still need warmth

Looks like forever doesn't seem long enough
For me to realize everything

I'll find a perfect way follow
To take the truth beyond the sorrow
And live my life like there is no tomorrow
I'll cherish everything inside
Our memories left in my mind
And wait patiently for the right time
'Cause I know there's a place for me beside you
It's just somewhere in the sky

Someday soon, I might be with you again
We could start another story we can share through time
How I wish I could return and change the past
But the time keeps running too fast

Your sheer departure left me solitary days
Since the moment you breathe life away

If Only

You won't fade away and will never be
You're stuck in my heart and in my fantasy
Your beauty exists in my world full of dreams
And the sound of your voice, so sweet to as it seems

Like a movie where you came into my life to steal my heart
And I came to rescue you in every danger from the start

If only you're the sun to brighten my days
It would only take a smile to shine all the way
If only you are here to stay by my side
We would count the stars in the moonlit sky
And this would only come true
If I close my eyes just dreaming of you

A fiction to their eyes, to me it was real
It's sad but it's true, I'm making time stand still
'Cause I don't want to forget the face of that girl
The day she stepped into the ground of my world

If only I'm the hero with power and might
I'd do all of my best just to save your life
If only I am there to stay by your side
I'd kiss you goodnight, watch as you sleep tight
But this would only come true
If I close my eyes just dreaming of you

The Good Old Memoirs

October 30 was the day,
When I started feeling your affection,
Twas evening and as I lay,
I kept seeing your illusion,

Cold evening of December 24,
I went to talk to you,
I gently said " I love you",
And you told me you do too.

A smile suddenly painted my face,
As I gaze at the stars on a cloudless sky,
I tried to form your angelic face,
As a shooting star passes by.

June 5, 2010 everything came to an end,
I seemed to give up, can't bear it anymore,
I wanted my heart to be mend,
And I think you're still the cure.

But I guess It's time to say the magical word,
"Goodbye" to you I hope you're fine,
I wanted to go further in this world,
I knew it, I am yours but you're not mine.
